Easter in Oregon

We spent a fun and relaxing Easter/Spring Break in Oregon at my parents' house in Sisters last week. The girls looked so cute in their dresses.

Benjamin looked pretty sharp in his Easter duds too...

My mom did an egg hunt for all the kids...Brandon (Brian and Marnae's) wasted no time getting to his candy.

Owen (Nathan and Shiara's) is holding his entire loot.

While the kids were hunting for eggs, the Easter Bunny came and left probably the coolest baskets my kids have ever gotten (thanks mom)!

Brandon and Tyler (modeling their tongues) and my girls.

These next pictures are of the adult easter egg hunt...a tradition in our family for decades now. My Uncle Steve does an AMAZING job disguising eggs in plain site. Unlike the kids' egg hunt, we don't pick up the eggs, we don't let anyone else know we've found an egg, we just quietly mark down on our own slips of paper where we've found each one. This year there was just under 20 eggs hiding in my parents house and after 2 hours I finally found them all!

It takes a lot of manuevering to find an egg...

Here's one of the eggs. Steve painted it to look like the basket. (look on the far right side)

Benjamin and Owen hid themselves in a corner and had fun making messes together!

Benjamin LOVED Sukee (my parents' very patient dog). His new word is now dog (daw)!

Another thing Benjamin loved was having so much space outside. My parents live on a golf course (Scott took Benjamin out and gave him some lessons) and it's wonderful to let the kids out and run (after golfing hours of course)!

Thanks to Shiara's mom we had an awesome time at this ranch in Sisters that she is the manager for. The owner is the man who patented tower crane's (like the ones used for skyscrapers). His fencing alone (he has around 650 acres) cost him over 2 million dollars. The ranch was so cool...very cool architecture. The kids loved feeding and riding the horses - so did I! Benjamin looks like he wants to try and add to the horse droppings here...

Looking up inside one of the stables on the ranch.

Grace was definitely enthralled with the whole ranch scene. She loved the horses and wanted to ride more than the other girls. We decided she is a cowgirl at heart.

One of the rooms in the stables was a saloon. Clara sat down and ordered a Jack Daniels!

We all went bowling one night and the kids had a blast, especially Benjamin who constantly walks around saying "ball!" He even got a strike!

Clara is cheering for herself here, jumping up and down for joy.

A cute picture of Nana C making Benjamin laugh.

The kids were so good on the trip. Benjamin took a long nap on the way home and the girls colored, read books and watched movies. This was our first family road trip to Oregon since moving and we're hoping they all go this well. We're so glad we can now DRIVE to Oregon - yea!
