Benjamin's "Little Guy"

For months now, Benjamin has been into drawing. And he can REALLY draw! I keep meaning to post some of his "art." This is one of the dozens and dozens he's done. It's fun to watch him hold his pencil all perfect and concentrate while he draws his little guys...that's what he calls them. Hmmm...maybe he's gonna take after his daddy.

Spring Is In The Air

Winter is finally beginning to release its death-grip on us (can you tell how much I love the cold?) and we're seeing signs of spring!  Love is in the air! - or at least some sort of desire to dance around and be a pretty princess - Clara and Benjamin make such cute princesses.  We keep telling Benjamin he's a prince, even prince charming, but princess sounds so much more fun to him I guess.  Good thing he's such a tough- dinosaur-monster-big trucks/trains-and anything dirt-type of boy or we'd be worried about an identity crisis.

Mom came out to visit to meet little Benson Powell (Savanna's little bro) and we took Benjamin and Savanna to the farm to pet the animals...it was such a nice, sunny day and the animals were out and active.

I don't know what was on our stroller, but I'm not surprised there were remains of something sticky and yummy - this cow loved it.  He licked the stroller all down one side; his tongue was so strong it would push the stroller across the sidewalk.  I finally took it away, worried Mr. Cow might break the thing.

Again, love is in the air...Benjamin loved all the animals, but especially this guy.  Before I could stop him, they kissed on the lips.  It's been over two weeks now, and no signs of lip disease so I think Benjamin's OK!

This is THE MOST PATHETIC creature I have ever seen.  My mom and I couldn't believe the poor thing was alive.  You know the term "hen-pecked?"  This one definitely has had some experience with that.  He's more than half-bald all over and has a seriously deformed foot.

Compared to the other lush, chubby chickens, he's a half-decayed wreck.

We took my mom, Annica, and Grace to Legally Blonde (the broadway).  Scott was a great sport about it being about one of the only men in the entire audience.  He's used to being out-numbered by girls though.

Scott meeting Benson for the first time - he declared him to be the "most perfect baby."

The kids dyed Easter eggs - something I procrastinate every year because I dread the mess, but other than a few stained sleeves things went fine this year.  Clara's eggs were the deepeset colored because she could patiently wait and wait while her eggs sat in the dye.

Easter morning.  Cinnamon rolls and Benjamin's left-over  hard-boiled egg.  Yes, I cut his hair...yes, it makes him look way older..I have mixed feelings about it.

After Easter dinner at Scott's parents we looked for eggs hidden by Ben outside around the pool.  The older kids were more excited about the money in the eggs than the candy.  It was fun though I really missed being in Oregon for Uncle Steve's famous egg hunt (see Easter in Oregon ).  Scott and I decided to try doing our own here in Alpine next year.  I guess we better start planning it now though if we want it to be anything like Steve's!

come on summer!

This post is a little different from my usual topic (kids), but you have to check out DownEast's new swim line for this year.  It is sooooo cute!  What's more, my friend (who is also named Jaime) is doing a giveaway right now on her blog for a free item from DownEast's catalog.  If you follow this link:  http://takeitfrom-me.blogspot.com/  you can enter the giveaway.  Now I really can't wait for summer!
