15 Years!

Last night Scott and I celebrated our 15th Anniversary!  He took me out to eat at a quaint little place called Fresca, an Italian restaraunt in Sugarhouse.  It was so, so good - the chef there is amazing.  After eating way too much, we went to watch a movie, but we were early and had time to waste so Scott thought we should get in the photo booth out in the lobby of the theatres and take our pictures.  I don't think I'd done that since I was in jr. high.  I was pretty embarassed, but I'm glad we did it.  We have something to look back and laugh about now...we picked the cheesiest graphics we could for the pictures.  Aren't we so cute?  I love you Scotty!

Our little surprise

This was a somewhat of a surprise for us, and for a lot of you who heard me say we were done.  Guess not!  So this is the bean at 12 weeks plus a couple days.  He/She was kicking and squirming all over during the ultrsound so at least I know that it's a healthy, happy baby at this point.  We waited over 4 weeks to surprise the kids on Christmas.  We also told Scott's family then.  Benjamin wore a shirt that said "Big Brother" to the family dinner on Christmas and that's how they figured it out.  The doctors say my due date  is July 19th, I know better and say it's July 16.

Holiday Greetings

Seeing I haven't posted at all about the holidays yet (and my Christmas cards this year listed my blog address for friends to view and see what's new with us) I will have to update you:

At the end of November, we were hit with heavy snow, enough to make a family of snowmen (see top) before it all melted.  Annica and Grace insisted on wearing their old snow pants from Michigan days even though they are so small on them now, they're technically snow capris.

Lookin' good:

Thanksgiving was GREAT this year!  I was so lucky that my family came here.  Mom and Dad flew down and spent the week with us and Kat and Steven and their kids came over for the feast too.  We set up a craft table for the girls and they made these handsome pinecone turkeys while we cooked.

Savanna looks so cute here I think:

Dad was happy just reading a book while he was here.  He finished the entire biography of Thomas S. Monson the few days he stayed with us.  Your chair misses you Dad.

One of the best parts of the day was using my "new" table for the first time.  I'd thought about getting a new table actually, but Scott convinced me he could do a nice job re-finishing the one we had.  It was an 8 yr. old, creamy-white painted (with lots of fork dings from Benjamin) pedestal table from Pottery Barn that wobbled so much it was hard to eat without feeling like you were on a teeter-totter.  Scott took the whole thing apart and re-built it and stained it (I love it!) and now it's brand-new.

I almost forgot about these turkeys - Annica, Grace, and I made them from oreos.  Fun, even for someone with clumsy fingers like me.

Friday was the girls' last day of school.  Besides a Christmas party (and yes, here in Utah we can call it a Christmas party, not a holiday party, or winter festival) Grace's 5th grade class did a little production of "The Christmas Carol."  Grace was a daughter to Bob Cratchit and her mom was Sophia -her cousin!  Grace did a great job and didn't miss one line - actually I can't remember if she had a line?  Well, she did a great job smiling anyway!

Saturday night was BINGO NIGHT at Grandma's!  Every year at Christmas Scott's parents host a bingo party for all the grandkids and give away prizes (candy and money) and the kids love it!  Clara got $5 in dimes that she's beaming over and the girls are holding up their loot.

Family games - last week we played multiple rounds of memory and Grace won EVERY time.  That girl schooled us all.  She must have a photographic memory, her trophy piles were skyscrapers to our skimpy stacks.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
